RND() – Akuma H23 (Derek Ryan Remix)

I’ve had the honor of remixing the legendary RND()‘s (caned by Sasha among others) latest track Akuma H23 out on Looq Records today, and it gave a great opportunity to do something different.

Kept it mainroom, but much proggier, and a little organic, but still melodic and driving.

The results sit somewhere between Gabriel & Dresden and Alucard, with hints of some Koglin-esque melodics.

See what you think in the preview vid here – my mix starts at 2:38 – and if you dig it, you can find it on Beatport!

Reborn ft. Charmy out on Dirt, Lies & Audio

Got a new vocal trancer featuring an emotional maelstrom of vocals from Charmy out today!

This journey has been really personal for her, and she’s translated it into a powerful, emotional vocal. Pair that with some serious drive, add a pinch of epic, and stir well…

Derek Ryan has released yet another super tight production here at Dirt, Lies & Audio Recordings… with a stand out vocal from Charmy, tech fused bass lines and big room riffs… This will carry you on the music route throughout the land filled with emotional quality trance… THIS IS A MUST FOR YOUR TRANCE COLLECTIONS!!

Azure on Echelon White

Another banger out on Echelon Records!
Pretty different feel on this one, with a seriously driving electro inspired bassline, and a sunny feeling uplifting melody. Fellow San Francisco luminary Ryan Mendoza brings the noise in his epic remix as well!

Here’s what the blurb says:

American producer Derek Ryan returns on Echelon with his delightfully fresh single “Azure”. His debut EP Optera in 2010 had a progressive emphasis with a slight tech twist and was well received by the audience. The new single boosts things up with a striking drive and a wild bass line, not forgetting pungent melodies and rich textures. The original mix flows with ease, adding different elements throughout the development. The package comes with a remix by Ryan Mendoza who builds his interpretation of Azure on a steady bass gallop while the melodic side has a more classical trance approach. — 1. Azure (Original Mix) 2. Azure (Ryan Mendoza Remix)

Catharsis – Out Now!

My latest single, Catharis, has just been released by We Stand Alone, and has already gotten massive support.

This one’s an energetic prog trancer that’s sure to move ya – esp with the killer remixes by SNR and Danny Chen.

Here’s what the label sez:

Derek Ryan delivers an awesome release, with supporting remixes from SNR and Danny Chen. The SNR Remix has already seen plays from Mike Saint-Jules and has featured on tyDi’s Global Soundsystem Show.

Dreaming EP out now!

In this latest package from San Francisco’s Derek Ryan, whose previous releases on Echelon Records, Noys Music, Cable, and Inspired Records have garnered massive support, we get two solid driving melodic tunes:

Dreaming Awake features the vocal talents of SF local songstress Belinda Yamate and spins a web of melodic textures and growling bass into a whirlwind of light and color for a triumphant finish with a big room boom.

Stealing Stars takes it a notch deeper and massive with evocative textural elements against an undulating groove that build to a starry lead paired with Japanese vocal samples (“Will you steal even the stars from our sky?”) themed around technology encroaching on the natural world, coming together in a huge nocturnal landscape.

POL – Clear Bull (Derek Ryan remix) released

Argentinian Trance producer and fellow Echelon artist POL’s latest bomb has just been released on Bonzai sublabel Fourty-5 Records, including a remix from yours truly.

I went for a techy prog vibe for the remix, so it should shake some serious speaker weight.
